Project 2 of 3 from my ZBrush class is in. He’s a monster from the Nightmare game concept. He’s the big, dumb, almost lovable type of monster. I would think in the game he would start out an enemy but the player has the option of befriending him. I tried to keep the semi-cartoony style of the overall game when creating him. I also focused (as I’m sure you can tell) on getting a good muscle structure on him, using a lot of human and some animal references.

Now, is he finished? Probably not. He’s still painfully monotone and could use some secondary and tertiary colors to spice him up. I was messing around with putting some hard scaley skin on his back, possibly in red or dark blue. Also thinking of making the legs a slightly different color. [More...]

ZBrush class I am taking, we will be producing 3 models to hypothetically be used in a game concept that we game up with in the first week of class. I am using the Nightmare game concept I’ve had mulling around in my head for a while and have produced models and concept art for in past classes. The models we will be producing are an object, a monster and a character.
 
The object is a teddy bear with spider legs. The idea is that the spider creature has hollowed out the body of a teddy bear as a disguise and pokes its legs through the bottom. This character is the first the player meets, and helps guide the player through the beginning of the game.   [More...]
